Our goal is to bring together experts in numerical relativity based in the UK to share expertise and develop an internationally leading community.
Our primary goal for this scoping proposal is to construct a roadmap to build a viable and vibrant UKNR community for the long term, and to make concrete the form of an NR CCP in the future centered around the development and exploitation of NR codes in the UK. A healthy UKNR community is one which has a shared vision, is mutually supportive, and can speak with one voice in matters in which the community has a stake as a whole.
If you would like to get involved with efforts to build a UKNR CCP, please contact one of the grant leads: Eugene Lim (Chair), Katy Clough, Mark Hannam, Geraint Pratten, Miren Radia, Patricia Schmidt, see UKNR Members for contact details.
ExaGRyPE describes a suite of solvers for numerical relativity, based upon ExaHyPE 2, the second generation of our Exascale Hyperbolic PDE Engine.
The GRTL Collaboration develops numerical codes that test the limits of General Relativity in dynamical strong gravity regimes, including higher dimensional spacetimes, and physics beyond GR and the Standard Model.
METHOD is a special-relativistic, multi-dimensional, multi-fluid ElectroMagnetoHydroDynamic solver.
MHDueT is an automatically generated, efficient computational code with distributed adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) which solves strongly gravitating, high density matter to study the dynamics of compact objects (i.e., black holes and neutron stars) in different astrophysical scenarios.
